Now Hiring - Optician/Sales Associate in Boynton Beach, FL

The Position:

We are looking for a full time or part time licensed or non licensed optician. The perfect candidate is someone who is motivated to help the practice grow and has a strong background in optical sales. We are an established practice with locations in Boynton Beach and Boca Raton looking for someone who wants to build a career with us in this rewarding field. The desired applicant must have experience working in an optical with an outgoing personality, attention to detail, and a great work ethic.

Primary job responsibilities include:

• Eyeglass sales with an emphasis on educating patients on the best lens designs and treatments to fit their needs
• Accurately explaining benefits to patients with vision insurance and discount plans
• Placing lab orders for eyewear
• Keeping patients informed on the progress of their eyeglass orders
• Using a lensometer to check for prescription accuracy
• Confidently troubleshooting any eyewear concerns patients may have
• Dispensing, adjusting and repairing eyewear
• Strong customer service with a positive attitude and passion for helping others
• Assisting in appropriate frame and lens selection based on patient’s needs
• Ability to accurately take optical measurements
• Read and interpret prescriptions
• Fitting and dispensing prescription eyewear
• Strong ability to troubleshoot complaints and ensure glasses were manufactured to the proper specifications
• Maintain inventory
• Booking patients for eye exam appointments
• Maintain HIPAA compliance
• Use of electronic health records

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

• Commission pay

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Sales Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Optical Experience: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Optician License (Preferred)

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Preferred)
